We've all seen the sign as we drive along the edge of Sherbrooke Forest

Just inside the gate, one of the consequences of Autumn is obvious

Also obvious is the enormous fenced-off house, built with Aspro proceeds, with its huge staircase down to the gardens below

The house from the back

From the garden below, the house looks imposing

- - obviously!

No small garden this. Those who had not seen it before were unanimous - it's huge

As we stood and watched, the leaves fell

Other leaves seemed ready to fall

"To the Lake", said one of the signs, and the lake was also colourful

Still waters plus bridge = reflection

But there was this intruder who seemed to pop up everywhere

There is a second bridge over the lake too, but we had trouble figuring out how to work it

Click to see big picture (500x335 pixels; 58 KB))
Some of our number were fascinated by that bridge

Others were fascinated by some of the plants

A rather long downhill walk was followed by a rather long uphill walk. No ski-lift.

There were a few little pump houses around - all looking like they had not pumped for a long time

Interesting artworks keep the rotunda company

Here's Madam Pres looking underwhelmed by the artwork

The house is fenced off, and although it has a sign, no-one believed it.

Back at the exit gate, something seemed to capture Madam Pres's attention

This little sign.

From Nicholas Gardens we moved on to the nearby George Tindale Memorial gardens. Not the same scale as the Nicholas gardens, but also impressive

Click to see big picture (268x400 pixels; 25 KB))
One of the features of the Tindale gardens - a rock that muscle bound fems can rotate

Click to see big picture (500x292 pixels; 41 KB))
Finally - the purpose of the walk (and every other walk) - coffee time - this time at Kallista - with the birds

What Helen was describing here? A mystery. Probably Sicilian drivers (recently observed).

This is just a sampling of the photos of the Walk. The full size pics are on a CD in the Boomerang Library.
